Client’s Guide to Approving Ad Account Access
This guide will help you understand how to approve access to your ad account requested by an agency. Follow the steps below based on whether you have a Personal ad account or a Business ad account.
Step 1: Locate Your Ad Account ID
Before approving access, you need to find your Ad account ID.
- Go to your Ads Manager.
3. Open the account switcher or settings. (You probably only have one account)
4. Look for your Ad account ID in the interface or in the URL.
5. Email or text the account id to the Agency you’re working with. If your working with CW Dynamic, you can use the same number you regularly text me with, or my personal email that you have is fine.
Step 2: Approve Access Request
Once the agency has the account ID they will send you a request for access and you can proceed to approve the access request from the agency.
Scenario A: If You Use a Personal Ad Account
- Open the left menu in Ads Manager.
- Navigate to All tools → Ad account settings.
- Scroll to Ad account roles.
- Find the pending request from the agency.
- Click on Respond to request.
- Approve the request by selecting Give access.
Scenario B: If You Use a Business Ad Account
- Go to Business Settings.
- Click on Partners.
- Find the agency’s business listed as a requesting partner.
- Click on the agency’s name to view the request.
- Go to Assign assets.
- Select Accounts and choose the Ad account.
- Decide on the access level: Partial or Full control.
- Click on Assign assets.
Step 3: Verify Access
After approving the request, it’s important to verify that the agency now has access to your ad account.
You can send the agency another note letting them know this has been completed, after they acknowledge:
- For Personal ad accounts: Refresh your Business Settings and check under Ad accounts to confirm the agency is listed.
- For Business ad accounts: In your Business Settings, navigate to Ad accounts to see if the agency is now listed.
Additional Notes
- Permission Levels:
- Partial access: Allows the agency to manage campaigns (create/edit/launch) and view performance.
- Admin access (Full control): Grants the agency the ability to manage permissions, connect assets, and potentially manage billing settings. Request only if necessary.
- If you encounter issues approving the request or if it remains pending, ensure you are using the correct numeric Ad account ID and that you have the necessary permissions as a Business Admin if you are using a Business ad account.
Conclusion
By following these steps, you can successfully approve access to your ad account for the agency. If you have any questions or run into issues, don’t hesitate to reach out to CW Dynamic for assistance.
